The Southern Pursuit Story

It started with a favour.

Our journey started with mates of a mate that needed a lift to Bluff for a hunting charter. Simple enough, except it wasn’t just a ride. There was freighted gear to collect, groceries to grab, and a gas bottle to lend. Then on to Bluff for salt ice and getting the boys to the boat on time.

On the drive home, the idea hit. What if this was all just… taken care of? Pick-ups, drop-offs, and everything organised in between, all with a little Southern hospitality added in. So people heading South could focus on the adventure and not the logistics.

That one trip became the idea. That idea became Southern Pursuit.

Meet Brad & Dana

Brad is a born-and- bred Southlander, with a rural background. Brad loves all sports (especially rugby), enjoys hunting and fishing and is a local builder. In his down time you’ll find him out and about around Southland watching and sometimes occasionally still playing rugby, heading out of Bluff fishing or chasing whitebait when the season rolls around. When he’s not on the water or in the whitebait hut or maimai he’s most likely unwinding with a well-earned Speight’s with sport on the telly.

Dana is originally from Kaitaia in the Far North. From one end of the country to the other which means she knows just how special Southland really is. With 20+ years working experience in roles helping people, Dana is the reason everyone feels welcome, heard and looked after. Lover of kaimoana, family history, and yes, she backs her rugby team just as hard as Brad backs his.

Together, Brad and Dana are raising three wonderful kids, and share a love of live music, travel and kai.
